So what is it about wedding photography that grabbed me? Honestly, everything I guess. Our lives are defined my key moments. Often these moments are unexpected, they hit us when we are least expecting them and take us completely by surprise. With weddings it’s different. Weddings don’t just happen; they’re planned. It’s difficult to think of any other occasion when so much love, emotion and joy are gathered all together and happen on one day, in one place and at one time.
I can honestly say that for me no two weddings are the same; sure there are common themes, stages and events but those aren’t the things that make a wedding. A wedding is made by the moments that those events contain and that’s were I come in. I capture moments. It’s as simple as that (except of course it isn’t really).
The majority of my shots are taken using natural or available light and I photograph on my own. Photographing weddings in this way gives me a large amount of freedom and allows me to keep a low profile on the day. Also, I’m not interested in interrupting your day, orchestrating it and taking the same pictures that I’ve taken before.
Couples who book me find that I do not place any limitations on my time (either before or after their wedding). If you want to seek my view or opinion about any aspect of your day, then I’ll be on hand to give you help, guidance and assistance. Finally, you’ll never find me putting my camera away and quitting after the first dance; because as every wedding photographer worth his (or her) salt knows, that’s when things really begin to get started…..
